Relief Teachers Needed for Maternity Leave at Making Music Academy

Making Music Academy, a predominantly mobile music service serving students across Perth CBD, is currently seeking relief teachers to cover maternity leave for one of our teachers during Term 2, 2024 - Monday 15th April – Friday 28th June. Our services encompass piano, singing, guitar, and ukulele.

We are specifically looking for a teacher proficient in beginner to intermediate piano instruction. Candidates with the capability to play other instruments are highly desirable.

Our typical teaching schedules run from 3:30 pm to 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Mondays primarily consist of group lessons held at our teaching space in Cottesloe, while the remaining weekdays entail private lessons within Perth CBD, with compensation provided for travel. While we prefer to hire one dedicated relief teacher, we welcome applicants available for specific days.

Commencement for the relief teacher is for Term 2, 2024, alongside the teacher going on maternity leave, allowing students to familiarise themselves with the relief teacher for a seamless transition. We aim for the relief teacher to shadow the primary teacher starting from at least week 3 of Term 2 and officially take over relief duties from week 6, though this timeline may be moved forward based on circumstances.

The duties of the relief teacher would include preparing students for the mid-year concert scheduled for Sunday, June 23rd. It is not mandatory for the relief teacher to attend this day but the opportunity to participate may be discussed.

Ideally, we are seeking a relief teacher who can serve as a reliable resource for future engagements, with the potential for ongoing work beyond the maternity leave period, particularly as we onboard new students.

If you are interested in joining our team and contributing to the musical development of our students, please reach out to us at makingmusicacademyperth@gmail.com

We look forward to hearing from you.

Warm regards,
The Team at Making Music Academy
