Based in Perth, WA, Natasha has been imparting her expertise for over half a decade, both privately and in various educational settings.
Natasha's journey in music commenced at the age of 6 with the violin, later extending to piano and guitar under the guidance of her grandfather. These instruments became integral tools for her exploration of songwriting. Vocal lessons began at the age of 7, driven by the need for projection in music theatre pieces performed in UK dance competitions, where Natasha excelled from a young age.
Dancing since the age of 3, Natasha's commitment led her to achieve Grade 8 in the Royal Academy of Dance examination with distinction, including the accomplishment of dancing on pointe. Alongside her musical pursuits, she studied drama at John Curtin College of the Arts (JCCA), earning a Certificate of the Arts for five years of distinction in the program. Natasha's dedication to music was further acknowledged with a Certificate of Excellence for Highest College Course Assessment Score in music.
After graduating from JCCA, Natasha auditioned successfully for the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) and completed a Diploma and Advance Diploma of Music Industry, culminating in a Bachelor of Contemporary Music with a focus on vocals and songwriting. In 2020, she was honored as the inaugural recipient of the Haselhurst Scholarship for Contemporary Vocals during her final year at WAAPA.
Following her studies, Natasha took a six-month hiatus to record her debut EP, "Finding Light," released under the artist name Tasha Mitchell on major streaming platforms. This EP, recorded at Villa Studios and mastered by Lee Buddle at Crank Recording Studio, showcased Natasha's musical prowess.
In mid-2021, Natasha embarked on a new academic journey, earning a Masters of Teaching (primary) at Edith Cowan University (ECU). Graduating as a primary performing arts specialist, she has since contributed her teaching talents to schools throughout Perth CBD, including Bold Park Community School. Natasha prioritizes continuous professional development, participating in opportunities such as those with Kimberley Lloyd at The Little House of Music.
In January 2022, Natasha officially launched "Tuition with Natasha!" Her commitment to teaching is reflected in her growing business, where she now teaches over 40 students a week, marking it as her full-time endeavor. The success of her teaching venture has led to new opportunities, including hosting end-of-year concerts for her dedicated and talented students. In 2024, the business re-branded to "Making Music Academy" and now runs under Natasha and the teachers employed by her.
