In-Home Music Lessons
Enjoy music lessons from the comfort of your own home with Making Music Academy. No rushing through traffic or waiting in waiting rooms - we bring the lessons to you.
We believe there are many benefits to learning at home. Students are in a familiar and comfortable environment, helping them feel relaxed, confident, and ready to learn. Lessons can feel more natural and personalised, allowing students to get the most out of each session.
For busy families, in-home lessons offer added convenience and flexibility, often leading to greater consistency and fewer missed lessons. Parents can also more easily stay involved in their child’s learning journey, observe lessons, and support practice between sessions.
Learning at home also gives teachers the opportunity to better understand each student’s learning environment, including their instrument setup and practice space. This allows us to provide practical, tailored guidance to support effective practice throughout the week.
Overall, learning from home creates a supportive, practical, and personalised experience.
Our Approach
At Making Music Academy, we know every student learns differently, which is why we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Rather than following a fixed curriculum, we tailor lessons to suit each individual student’s goals, interests, age, and learning style.
Our teaching draws on a range of educational approaches, including the Western Australian music curriculum and elements of the Kodály method. Some students enjoy following our recommended method books, others work towards AMEB exams, and many simply love learning their favourite songs or accompanying themselves while singing.
For beginners, we take the time to get to know each student, understand their experience level, and find the best starting point together. Whether a student is completely new to music or continuing from previous lessons, our aim is for every lesson to feel engaging, encouraging, and rewarding.
Above all, our goal is simple: to inspire confidence, creativity, and a lifelong enjoyment of music.

Enrolment & Lesson Fees
After your trial lesson - or if you’re ready to begin straight away - you can enrol in regular weekly lessons with Making Music Academy.
The 30-minute lesson is our most popular option, suitable for students of all ages and levels. Longer lessons (45 or 60 minutes) allow more time to build skills, extend learning, and progress at a faster pace.
To secure your regular lesson day and time, payment for the term (or a pro-rata amount) is required. Payment plans are available if needed. We also offer flexibility with rescheduling (with at least 24 hours’ notice) and can accommodate fortnightly lessons where appropriate.
