Founder & Teacher
Meet Natasha Mitchell - the driving force behind Making Music Academy! Natasha brings over a decade of experience and a wealth of qualifications to her work, offering unparalleled expertise in both music and education. She is dedicated to nurturing each student’s musical journey and fostering their emotional well-being, confidence, and self-expression through the power of music.

Natasha’s Philosophy:
As the lead teacher at Making Music Academy, Natasha oversees all aspects of the academy, from teaching and curriculum to communication with parents and students. She is deeply passionate about fostering a love for music in every student, helping them explore their creative potential while building confidence, emotional resilience, and a sense of accomplishment. Natasha believes that music is not only an art form but a powerful tool for personal growth and self-expression.

MEET THE TEAM

Gem
Gem Addison is a dedicated music tutor based in Perth Hills. Gem's teaching journey commenced at Girls Rock WA, where she volunteered her time to mentor bands and provide vocal instruction to high school students. Transitioning into professional music education, Gem has taught at esteemed institutions such as Music Rocks Australia, Lumen Christi College, and Mega Music Academy.
In 2022, Gem successfully graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) with a Bachelor of Contemporary Music (Hons). Gem is a talented multi-instrumentalist and predominately teaches piano and vocals at Making Music Academy. However she is also a wonderful beginner's guitar teacher and can assist in songwriting and music the
Gem looks forward to inspiring and guiding students on their musical paths with enthusiasm and expertise. Gem is passionate about nurturing creativity and fostering theoretical thinking in her students.



Vincent
Glenn
Vincent is a talented jazz guitarist and graduate from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). During his studies at WAAPA, Vincent was awarded Jazz Honours Award for presenting the best graduation recital amongst his peers.
Arts magazine Seesaw, describes Vincent’s guitar playing is of “a high level of maturity and technique”, with an “excellent understanding of contemporary improvisational jazz vocabulary”.
Over the past years, Vincent has wowed audience in Hong Kong, Brisbane and Perth. Vincent has performed with international and national artists, such as Frank Gambale, Varijashree Venugopal, Jun Kung, Barney Mcall, Jo Davie, Pat Carroll, etc.
Apart from being a busy performer, Vincent is also a passionate guitar tutor, who has taught students ranging from eight to sixty years old. Vincent offers acoustic and electric guitar lessons, covering a wide range of repertoire such as pop, rock, blues, funk and jazz. Tailor-made music lessons will be designed to match the skill levels and musical interests of the students.
Glenn Wallis is a performer and music tutor, specialising in vocals and piano. Glenn is AMEB trained and is a kind, welcoming and teacher that listens. He began tutoring at Access Music, and in 2024 assisted in maternity leave cover for Natasha. We loved him so much we decided to keep him! Glenn also teaches beginner guitar and ukulele.
Glenn is also a passionate actor and in 2021, played the titular role of Beast in Beauty & The Beast at the Regal Theatre. For the role, he trained with esteemed opera and artistic director Matt R J Ward. Since then he has continued to gain film and theatre credits, notably performing on the Prince of Wales stage in London. Glenn is a familiar face at Fringe festivals across Australia and is a talented producer of his own stage performances.
In music lessons, Glenn focuses on assessing each student's goals and needs. Ultimately, he aims to inspire confidence in his students and can assist students in preparing for exams or performances.
Monica
Monica has been passionate about music from a young age, performing since the age of 10 and teaching percussion and piano for over three years. She is currently completing her Honours in Percussion at WAAPA, where she performed as part of the award-winning percussion ensemble Defying Gravity and the innovative new music ensemble HearNow. Monica has performed in China and Australis and has collaborated with notable artists such as Kaboom Percussion and Adam Tan.
Her teaching philosophy is rooted in helping students discover their passion for music, fostering a love for learning that goes beyond the classroom. With expertise in both rhythm and melody, she tailors her lessons to each students goals and interests, creating a supportive and inspiring environment where they can grow as musicians and people.
